#SOULFULSUNDAYS – “Afro Blue” – Ahmed Sirour & Cleveland P. Jones

The last time Cleveland P. Jones and Ahmed Sirour collaborated on a song was over a year ago, in 2012, when he added his sublime vocals and original lyrics to my pre-exisiting song, “Love One Another” to be an added bonus track to my album, ‘The After 2am Sessions LP’. Cleveland would later release his debut album, ‘Ace of Hearts’ earlier this year (2013), but it was our back-to-back-to-back collabs of “Nature Boy”, “Twice”, and most notably, “Sensitive” that brought our musical wonder twin powers together (lol) that caught the attention of various ears around the world.

Well, though long overdue, finally we decided to head back into the studio and record something just as a teaser of things to come, although this is just a cover and we’ll be working on some originals…so this is just a way of saying, “don’t sleep”; 2011 was simply the appetizer 😉

You could call this track a sampler of the first course…100 downloads, then it’s gone (on this page, at least) BUT, we’ll accommodate more copies if the demand is justified…but we went in on this one as I’ve never went this far into my jazz playing before, and Cleveland is really showing the vocal dexterity and chops to pay tribute to his idols, Rachelle Ferrell and Anita Baker (yup…he’s serious, and you’ll hear how so)!
