Cory Gunz was arrested for gun possession in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday (January 28) afternoon.

The Young Money emcee’s father, rapper Peter Gunz, confirmed the report to MTV News.

“The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx,” Gunz told MTV News. “They caught him around 2 p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack.”It was definitely an illegal search,” Peter added.Gunz was unable to disclose full details on the incident just yet, but he explained the events leading up to his son’s arrest. “I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should ‘look out,’ ” Gunz said. “According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.”What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory actually happened to be a cool dude,” Gunz continued. “After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation.”

Though this is Cory Gunz’ first charge, his father is worried about New York’s stringent gun laws, the same that put the likes of Lil Wayne, Ja Rule, Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, and NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress in prison.

“To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s very hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through.”

Hosts Terrence J. and Rocsi will welcome a number of special guests during the “Young, Single and Parenting” 90-minute special, which will focus on issues affecting young parents, specifically African-American youth.
Rapper Don Trip will discuss his track “Letter To My Son,” while actor/poet Tray Chaney will explain the motivation behind his video “Fatherhood.”
The guests will be joined by in-studio experts, Dr. Michelle and Dr. Tartt.

Rihanna has found a new way to get some unique stage outfits.

Rihpac will be hitting Britain’s fashion scene in search of undiscovered designers for a new television show. Teaming up with Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, who will serve as host, Rihanna will take on the role of executive producer and work behind the scenes in the untitled series set to release this summer.

Sky Living HD announced on Thursday that it has teamed up with media company Twenty Twenty for the series. Much like Project Runaway, Roberts and Rihanna will gather 10 contestants for a competition to design outfits for musicians and celebrities. Their final task will give designers the opportunity to design an outfit for her Wireless performance in Hyde Park in July.

“I’ve always had a great love of fashion,” said Rihanna. “It’s a constant source of inspiration in my life, and is a big reason why I’ve grown into the person and artist I am today.

“I have been very fortunate to work with some truly amazing designers and stylists throughout my career, and they have been instrumental in making sure my creative vision reaches the stage.
